she is totally a doll!  and she smiles.  the other day i went down to san diego with a couple of pals to interview and photograph rumi for elle japan.  it turns out the ultra-cool proprietor of the ever so popular blog fashion toast is not only beautiful but she is also kind of modest and so so down.  she loves tokyo 7-11, dirty bars, empire records, living in sd, and robert pattinson.  oh and she doesn’t kill bugs, she’s like really sweet.  here are some outtake shots by photographer christophe wu.

oh chloe you so fine

back before blogs were any kind of rage there was the fashion spot.  i used to obsessively check the chloe sevigny thread for new photos.  that was just a memory until today, and i found this stunning photo of chloe in this jil sander dress from one of my most favourite collections in recent seasons.

call me crazy, but i think i’m over the notion of “dressing for yourself”.  of course it’s important for your clothing to reflect who you are, but it’s also ok to be sexy and dress (just a little bit) for men.    part of what is beautiful about fashion is that it is very sexy.  clothing and then the idea of what’s underneath!  plus it’s summer!  show some skin!

and as this photo from garance dore shows, it is quite possible to be chic, comfortable, and sexy all at once.  this look is so personal in the individual pieces and the styling.  i think this was taken in ny but this is what i think all california girls should look like.

summer leather…never mind!

i’ve been advocating summer leather for months now but i have to say, i was sooo wrong about it!  i mean, reversed trends have always sounded like  good idea to me, but there truly is a reason why weather dictates fashion choices.  i’ve been wearing my silence + noise pleather shorts out in the 90 degree la weather and everytime i just cannot wait to take them off!  sheesh, how ambitious and totally not worth it.  instead i’m going to fill my wardrobe with slinky floral dresses, which will come courtesy of my friend erik once we make a trip down to the fabric district.  come back soon and i will maybe have some slinky florals for sale!

blogger shop day!

this is so cool!  mark your calendars for aug 2!  space15twenty is having another blogger shop day and guess what!  my band, puppy dog is playing!  along with another wicked band, weave.  this is gonna be a really cool event.  space15twenty is not only a supercool shopping center that houses shops like alife, hennessy + ingalls, and the best urban outfitters outpost ever…it is also one of my most favourite places to play!  benny shambles from part time punks is the best sound dude, and he works here.  tania enriquez is so so cool too.  and snackbar, situated right in the courtyard of the space, is totally like my version of the max.  come have some sunday fun with us!

ok this has nothing to do with la at all but i’m going to die if i don’t get these emma cook for topshop boots.  i have been lusting after them from the moment i saw them on fashion toast an eternity ago.  that is a very long time to feel this type of insatiable desire.  i think about wearing them with every outfit i put on every single day.  if i had these i would need no other shoe for as long as i live.
